Old Macdonald had a farm...

Here are some pictures from our little adventure to Tashunka Farm.  It is only a few miles from our house...who knew?!?! A friend told me about it so we thought we'd check it out.  Emmeline is really into animals right now since we read many books that have farm animals and zoo animals in them.  She really likes horses.  We just bought her some new jammies with horses on them and she gets really excited at night when we put them on!  She just started sounding like she is saying "horse" when she sees a horse...she also clucks her tongue (like the horse is trotting)--I do this when we see a horse in a book or when we drive by the pasture up the road.  She doesn't quite have the neighing down yet. ha!  She also makes a high pitched "bird call" when she hears/sees birds during our walks and that is the sound she made when she saw the chickens/roosters at the farm.  It was funny.  She also saw some trees with apples and pointed and said "Mmmmmmmmmmmm!" a bunch.
Keegan liked the goats the best.  He was shaking the gate and yelling with excitement. He wasn't too interested in anything else while we were there...he really just wanted to crawl away and find other stuff to get into.  Like ROCKS to try to eat!  Oh, BOYS.  We got pretty dirty but it was a fun trip.  We will definitely go back some time.  For $5 we got to see chickens, chinchillas, bunnies, a horse, a mini horse, a cow, a donkey, and some goats up close and personal...we're even on a first name basis with all of them.  I only remember the horses name though (Thank you, Will Smith--you'll see why)  Ha!  Not sure where the pigs were today?

Emmeline wasn't too sure about this Chinchilla on her lap.

Emmeline's First Birthday!

I cannot believe our baby girl is ONE!  I am overwhelmed with emotion as I think back on where we were a year ago and all that we've been through since then.  We have had an amazing year full of laughter and love...and some tears along the way.  It has been the best year of our lives and also the most challenging...so many changes, so much excitement!  It has been incredibly special to see Emmeline grow into her own little person right before our eyes.  I love my little family and I love how we are all growing and learning together.:-)  I can't wait to see what the next year brings.  We are so blessed and I am so grateful for all that we have and all that we are.  God is good!

It's the birthday girl!
